✨ Season summary · written Oct 30, season in progress

So far this fall, Mondo Valley High School has played 60 of 138 scheduled games across 8 sports, with 57 home and 75 away contests. Teams have taken 59 bus trips covering about 4,213 round-trip miles and about 106 hours on the road. The schedule has generated 49 early dismissals and about 66.7 hours of class time missed by teams.

Golf leads both categories, accounting for 13 early dismissals and about 28.1 hours of class time missed by teams, with every match played away. Field hockey and cross country follow, combining for another 19.0 hours of class time missed by teams. No games have been called off this season.

Ideas for next season

• Combine field hockey levels on same-day trips. Scheduling varsity and JV field hockey together at Summit Ridge and Willow Creek could save about 217 combined miles across those two venues by replacing two separate trips with one.
• Push golf start times later. All 13 golf matches start at 2:30 PM, pulling varsity golfers out of class by 12:25 PM or earlier. Negotiating later start times with Hawthorne, Stonebridge, and 11 other venues could reduce class time missed by teams significantly.
• Move long weekday trips to Saturdays. Summit Ridge and Kingsbury Academy require drives of 86 to 93 minutes one way and draw school-day buses across field hockey, football, and cross country. Saturday scheduling for those venues would eliminate the associated early dismissals.
• Get families following boys JV soccer and girls JV volleyball on SportSlate. Soccer boys JV and volleyball girls JV each played 12 games this season with zero families following on SportSlate. Reaching out to those families before next season would bring two active rosters into the app.
